Some of what you'll be doing:
- You will perform general and advanced administrative duties, including typing letters and memos, recording meeting minutes, organizing, and maintaining files, which may include confidential information, prepare reports, and pull data.
- You will communicate with other departments and stakeholders as needed for various tasks at hand.
- You will maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing, and expediting orders.
- You will submit work orders for IT and Maintenance related issues.
- You will be responsible for scheduling mandatory overtime assignments, squad bidding, and personnel schedules for special events.
- You will maintain training records, public disclosure requests (including reviewing and processing police body worn videos) and assist with department CALEA accreditation standards.
- You will serve as the first point-of-contact for front office and non-emergency phones.
- You will act as backup support for other administrative staff, as needed, to include but not limited to department payroll time administrator, budget, and grant related purposes as well as travel, expenses and reporting.
- Experienced
– You have two (2) years of professional administrative office experience and/or working directly to support of a law enforcement agency/function. - Educated
– You possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. - Desired
– We hope you have knowledge of public disclosure requirements under the Washington State Public Records Act (RCW 42.56), including experience processing public records requests, applying records redaction standards, using public records management systems, and reviewing body-worn camera footage, preferably within a public safety or law enforcement environment. We also hope you have can type at least 40 WPM and have at least five (5) years of administrative office experience. - Committed to Equity

- Critical Thinker – You are able to rapidly analyze and solve problems, cope with stressful or pressure situations, and maintain the highest level of confidentiality, squad bidding, and personnel schedules for special events.
- Background Investigation
– You must pass a background investigation that includes a complete criminal records check, a polygraph examination, a drug screen and a psychological examination. Background investigations will be conducted as openings occur and include the following: driving history, credit history, arrest records, military records, educational records, and other sources where information can be obtained to measure one's suitability for police work.
