The mission is seeking to fill a Senior Operations Liaison Assistant position for the Canada Border Services Agency program as well as various administrative positions that may arise following this selection process. The Operational Liaison Assistant (OLA) will support efforts to support Canada’s national security and public safety priorities and facilitate the free flow of persons and goods with or linked to the Liaison Officer’s (LO) area of responsibility (AOR);
participate in reporting on cross border criminal activities and trends involving people and goods; liaise with local partners, immigration and customs contacts on a wide range of CBSA mandate issues; assist the LO, in expanding border management cooperation with officials in the United States of America; professionally represent the LO and as required, the International Network Manager and Regional Director (RD), and CBSA in communication and networking with representatives of host countries and other organizations including translation;
and, occasionally or during LO absences, perform some basic activities normally carried out by the LO while exercising initiative and discretion.

ESSENTIALQUALIFICATIONS
All essential qualifications will be assessed. Methods of assessments and screening of candidates may include but are not limited to: verification of credentials, resume and letters of presentation; interviews, exams and practical tests; presentations or other types of assessments.
EducationThis position requires:
- A Bachelor's Degree or Undergraduate diploma from a legally recognized University or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.*
* An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience refers to: three (3) years of administrative work experience.

The Following languages and proficiency levels are required for this job. Candidates will be formally assessed or requested to provide proof of certification on these levels.
- An advanced proficiency level (reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking) in English.
In order to perform the duties relevant to this job, the following experience is required.
- Two years cumulative experience in providing client service and/or administrative support in an office environment
- Experience in managing a budget, tracking expenses related to projects, and providing financial status reports
- Experience using Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Excel, Teams and Outlook.
All competencies will be assessed. All competencies must be met prior to appointment.
