Overview

Geosyntec Consultants, a multinational environmental engineering and consulting firm, has an immediate opportunity for a Payroll Analyst to join our corporate payroll team based in Boca Raton, FL. The flexibility to work from Seattle, WA or any of our other U.S based offices may be available at the discretion of the Company. A hybrid work schedule is available for this position.

The ideal candidate will report and work closely with the Payroll Manager and Payroll Supervisor to timely and accurately process the company's payroll and assist with enhancements to current payroll processes and practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze the payroll taxes for each bi-weekly or monthly payroll.
  • Respond in a timely manner to labor and workers compensation requests online or paper.
  • Payroll processing.
  • Prepare journal entry files for all payrolls.
  • Timesheet research for missing or late timesheets.
  • Timesheet reversal handling for missing hours or mis-posted hours/PTO.
  • Review vacation accrual reporting.
  • Adjust PTO balances in payroll software platform.
  • Supply HR with a negative PTO balance report.
  • Correct any adjustments to the General Ledger Interface before posting into BST.
  • Assist with the timely transmission.
  • Respond to complex payroll questions.
  • Assist with payroll tax adjustments and amendments for tax correction purposes.
  • Process/assist with payroll for multiple countries.
  • Train other team members.
  • Assist with quarterly payroll general ledger reconciliation process.
  • Assist with setting up tax with holdings and worker's compensation calculations for new states and countries; and
  • Assist in setting up payroll for newly acquired companies.
  • Provide employee customer service as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and five years (7+ preferred) of payroll experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Experience with creating payroll reports, analyzing payroll taxes, and how payroll interfaces with accounting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel (pivot tables and vlookup), and payroll software.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal clients.
  • Ability to add, subtract and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. The compensation ranges as of posting are provided for reference and based on location. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum: $27.75 / hour
  • Maximum: $38.86 / hour (Seattle, WA)
