Responsibilities- Support product risk assessments for new categories, products, features, and business initiatives.
- Conduct controls benchmarking and research external and internal approaches to product safety and compliance governance.
- Help draft, refine, and maintain policies, SOPs, guidance, and decision frameworks for product safety and compliance programs.
- Perform sample reviews and audits to validate decisions, identify gaps, and improve control effectiveness.
- Analyze operational and enforcement data to uncover trends, misclassifications, policy gaps, and emerging risks.
- Create clear PBRs and supporting materials for algorithmic and LLM model development in partnership with technical and business teams.
- Assist with root‑cause analysis for seller‑impacting issues, including listing or policy enforcement questions, and help translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Partner cross‑functionally with stakeholders across governance, operations, product, policy, and technical teams to drive alignment and execution.
- Prepare concise reports, recommendations, and readouts for leadership and partner teams.
Must be able to commit to at least a 3‑month internship period.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, Public Policy, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Risk, Compliance, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous issues and turn data into insights.
- Comfort working with data in tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross‑functional partners and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Good judgment, attention to detail, and a strong sense of ownership.
- Interest in e‑commerce, marketplace governance, product safety, compliance, trust & safety, or risk operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship, coursework, or project experience in risk, compliance, governance, policy, trust & safety, consulting, operations, or marketplace/e‑commerce environments.
- Experience conducting audits, benchmarking, policy research, or root‑cause analysis.
- Familiarity with AI/ML, algorithm governance, prompt workflows, or LLM‑related evaluation concepts.
- Experience creating presentations, memos, or business requirement documents for technical or non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to balance data‑driven analysis with practical business judgment.
The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $23.75–$23.75.

Interns receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in the first half of the year, 40 if hired in the second half). Non‑fully‑remote interns may also be eligible for a housing allowance.
