Responsibilities
The procurement team undertakes logistics‑related service and physical procurement as well as service provider management work to support the development of the logistics business. The role focuses on maintaining price competitiveness of procurement services while meeting business requirements, and on nurturing long‑term relationships with service providers to ensure stability and cooperation.
The team is part of the Tik Tok Shop US operation, responsible for building the Tik Tok e‑commerce partnership and delivering high‑quality products and a unique customer experience through the Tik Tok platform.
As a project intern you will engage in short‑term projects that provide a glimpse of real‑world experience and develop practical skills in a fast‑paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic partnerships with global leading supply chain and logistics providers.
- Identify, evaluate, and lead supplier development or joint business plans focused on value creation; proactively identify supply risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Formulate introduction strategies, long‑term cooperation plans and capability improvement plans for regional logistics and supply‑chain fulfillment service providers.
- Conduct procurement activities, including resolving issues and ensuring seamless maintenance of vendor accounts and purchase orders/requisitions.
- Full lifecycle supplier management: through market research and sourcing efforts, establish connections with logistics and supply chain service providers in the U.S. market and introduce them as partners of the e‑commerce platform.
- Establish a tiered supplier management system (SLA/KPI/risk alerts) and optimize carrier contract terms quarterly to maintain price competitiveness and service quality.
- Conduct carrier bidding and price negotiations, reducing logistics costs while monitoring compliance and driving improvements.
- Collaborate with business operation teams, strategy and product to deliver carrier capability mapping and resource allocation models.
- Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to implement and optimize processes that enable operations to scale.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in Business Management, International Trade, or Supply Chain.
- Proven skills in project management and statistical analysis.
- Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills, and understanding of financial reports.
- Experience in product operations, product management, data analysis, ads/search/recommendation systems, or related internships/projects.
Hourly rate: $23.75. Interns receive benefits including health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, 10 paid holidays, paid sick time, and housing allowance for those not working 100% remote. Interns also have day‑one access to all benefit programs.
