Hybrid Position: This role requires presence at the Downtown Seattle Office two days a week (Mondays and Thursdays). Candidates must be based in the Greater Seattle Area or willing to relocate.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without the need for current or future employer sponsorship for an employment‑based visa status.

This Business Analyst partners closely with Rover’s Infosec team and Trust and Safety Leadership to drive initiatives that make Rover a safer community for pet parents and sitters. You’ll collaborate directly with a diverse set of stakeholders to define, measure, and improve the success of Rover’s Fraud program. Your responsibilities include conducting in-depth analysis of new and developing fraud trends, identifying issues, and proposing actionable solutions.

You translate ambiguous business problems into crisp requirements and build data products to meet niche needs.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning & Measurement: Partner with Fraud leadership to define the strategy for measuring program health, operational performance, and magnitude of Fraud’s impact on our business. This includes establishing comprehensive metrics
    , developing crisp reporting, and setting up monitoring rhythms
    .
  • Performance Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of key Fraud metrics to identify emerging trends and opportunities which inform deeper research and analytical efforts.
  • Develop and Refine Detection Models: Develop and improve tooling and models to more effectively identify emerging fraud attacks, empowering the Fraud team to take quicker, more effective action.
  • Executive Communication: Develop and present crisp narratives from analytics findings to senior Operations leaders, focusing on identified problems and proposed solutions.
  • Thought Partnership: Serve as a strategic partner and advisor to business leaders, making data‑driven recommendations on investments and optimization strategies within Trust and Safety and Fraud.

Qualifications:
  • At least 4 years of experience working cross‑functionally with complex datasets to support organizational decision making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You narrate analysis and results to business partners concisely and meaningfully.
  • Passion for developing and embracing new ways of working using AI tools, automating mundane tasks and improving analytical workflows.
  • Comfortable with independent translation of stakeholder questions into clear, actionable analytical problems.
  • Hands‑on experience building data abstractions using tools such as DBT or Airflow and data visualization tools (Mode, Looker, Periscope, Tableau, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and confidence reviewing code from other analysts and data scientists.
Nice to Have:
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience with applied statistics.
  • Python/R coding skills are a plus.
  • Prior experience performing advanced fraud analytics within the technology sector.
  • Experience with development and optimization of machine learning models.
  • Hands‑on experience using AI tools (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) daily to simplify analytical work.
  • Experience working with customer service tool data (e.g., Zendesk).
  • Experience running A/B tests and experiment design.

Compensation:
  • In the greater Seattle area the first‑year salary range is $108,694–$136,046. Rover offers benefits to full‑time employees.
  • The cash compensation offered for this role will depend on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and abilities as demonstrated in the interview and hiring process.
