A private family office is seeking an analytically minded Grants Analyst and Operations Manager to support its philanthropic activities. This role uses data to shape program strategies, diligence organizations, and manage grant portfolios.

Location:

Seattle, WA (hybrid)

Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $185,000

Summary
  • This is a data-driven grants operations role where analysis directly informs philanthropic strategy and grant execution within a discreet family office.
  • You will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and maintaining the data that guides sourcing, diligence, and program decisions.
  • The role sits on a small, cross-trained team where responsibilities flex over time and all members work across the full breadth of grantmaking activities.
  • Discretion and sound judgment are central, given the sensitive and confidential nature of the work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and leverage data to inform program strategy development and assess the operating environments and effectiveness of candidate organizations.
  • Build and improve internal data infrastructure and taxonomies, and design and implement data-cleaning projects to maintain data integrity.
  • Train colleagues on data tools and techniques to raise the team's analytical capability.
  • Execute approved grants day to day, working independently and with collaborators.
  • Manage communications with grant recipients, including processing grant information and handling follow-on funding requests.
Qualifications
  • Ideally 10+ years in consulting, philanthropic advising, and/or program management.
  • Knowledge of program strategy development, nonprofit operations, grantmaking, and key socioeconomic and nonprofit sector datasets.
  • Advanced data analysis skills, including the ability to clean, structure, interpret and create visualizations of data to help drive decisions.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly to varied audiences.
  • Highest level of discretion, integrity, and trustworthiness when handling confidential information.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM.
  • Background working within a family office or private philanthropic environment.
  • Experience with and enthusiasm for operating in a start-up-style setting with a rapid rate of change.
