In this role you will manage a team of product managers who define a roadmap of product features, that are connected across platforms, providing a hassle-free travel and operational experience. Exceptional planning and communication skills are essential for success in this role. This role works closely with senior executives, managers and specialists to develop a winning product strategy and products that delight our customers.
KeyDuties
- Leads a team of product managers who determine Alaska's product vision, roadmap, strategy and plans.
- Develop a 1-3 year vision and strategy by acting as voice of the user and by advocating for the user's highest needs.
- Oversee the product strategy and assist in the creation of the individual product roadmaps.
- Assist in creating OKRs, KPIs and actively measure performance across a suite of products.
- Conduct competitive analysis across the airline and travel industries.
- Establish and maintain a steering committee to ensure roadmap and features are well informed and supported by key partners.
- Provide analysis and recommendations for potential new features, optimizations, and other methods to improve the overall user experience.
- Identify gaps in product functionality, plan out future enhancements, and assign priority.
- Monitor user feedback to prioritize product features, enhancements, and fixes.
- Actively monitor each product's metrics and build a robust reporting suite for sharing this data.
- Communicate product status, key issues, and release plans to key constituents across the organization including management, IT, design, sales, PR, legal, airport, and customer service.
- Foster a culture of high performance, critical thinking, great design, and vibrant collaboration.
- Build relationships with stakeholders and manage their expectations on a regular basis.
- Manage, train, and mentor Product Managers.
- Select and manage vendor relationships and their products.
- Stay current in Agile Product Management best practices and develop team members as needed.
Required
- 5 years of experience in Product management.
- 2 years of leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- Past success defining and launching mobile products.
- Passion for mobile app user experience and design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical customers, colleagues, and executives.
- Excellent teamwork skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of APIs and web-services architecture required.
- Familiarity with Visio, Power Point, MS Word, and Excel required.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and solve problems required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- Demonstrates success leading, coaching, and developing high-performing Produce Management teams in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
- Hands-on experience with airline crew scheduling and operational systems such as JCTE, AIMS, or comparable platforms, with the ability to translate complex operational needs into clear produce strategy and execution.
- Experience working in the airline industry, particularly supporting large-scale, mission-critical operational products.

$146,400-$219,600 / year
