Job Overview

Finance Manager – Nordstrom Merchandising Organization (Hybrid – 4 days in Seattle office)

Partner directly with business teams to provide strategic planning, investment decisions, and performance insights that drive growth and maximize profitability. Translate financial analysis into actionable insights that shape strategic and operational decisions, and lead planning for major product strategies and business initiatives.

• Partner with senior leaders to anticipate future business opportunities and challenges, especially in sales, margin, and inventory.
• Quantify impacts of decisions and risk/opportunity scenarios to inform executive decision‑making.
• Participate in development and execution of strategic merchandising and financial plans, integrating the merchandising perspective into Finance decision‑making.
• Identify opportunities to improve business results, guiding formation of new processes, and managing and mentoring junior team members.
• Define measurement approaches and build tools to monitor performance of core business and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with business leaders and cross‑functional partners to develop business cases and financial modeling for investment prioritization.
• Support ad‑hoc analyses and special projects, both individually and by leading junior team members.
• Generate insights from analysis, synthesize findings, and communicate clearly to support executive‑level decisions.

• 8–10 years of relevant experience with progressive scope and accountability, including ★Merchandising experience★ preferred.
• Proven expertise in analysis, modeling, and reporting of financial performance.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with peers, business partners, and senior leadership.
• Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience using AI tools, Looker, and SQL is a plus.
• Storytelling ability with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and timelines.
• People management experience is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail, data integrity, and accuracy.
• Retail industry experience is a plus.

Salary range: $ – $ annually. This position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives/bonuses.
