Overview

The Energy Portfolio Operations (EPO) team manages Amazon's portfolio of energy contracts post execution, monitors performance, provides controllership for energy spend, tracks and optimizes environmental attributes toward sustainability goals, and ensures compliance with regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute post-procurement Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) activities and deliver against operational excellence and sustainability goals.
  • Track, allocate and retire RECs across the global portfolio.
  • Develop expertise on REC frameworks (e.g., RPS), schemes and transactions, acting as a subject-matter expert.
  • Manage renewable power purchase agreements globally and support contractual obligations with counter parties.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new contracts, including REC registry account setup and readiness activities.
  • Support settlements, reconciliations, issue resolution and overall transaction controllership.
  • Report and analyze portfolio performance, identifying impacts to business units and customers.
  • Plan and drive initiatives to improve operations, simplifying processes and delivering scale effects.
  • Collaborate with other Amazon teams to support energy program management.

Interact with teams responsible for all aspects of data centers, prioritizing activities that support capacity delivery, availability and safety. Opportunities to work on local and global projects.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of analytics, back‑office or front‑office experience.
  • Experience in modeling and data visualizations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the utility/energy industry – compliance, regulatory, asset/contract management, market operations or similar.
  • Experience with REC programs and global equivalents.

The base salary range for this position is USD  –  annually.
