Position: Program Specialist - Facilities (non-permanent, 18-month assignment)

Opportunity Description

Seattle Central College is looking to hire a Program Specialist in the Facilities department.

Salary Range for this position is $62,748.00 to $82,428.00 annually

Opportunity is open until filled, first review of materials will begin August 17, 2026.

Position Summary

Help shape the environment that supports student success. As the Facilities Program Specialist
, you will lead key business operations for Seattle Central College's Facilities Department
, managing budgets, procurement, contracts, capital project support, asset management, reporting, and compliance. Serving as a trusted resource and advisor, you will analyze financial and operational data, resolve complex challenges, and drive improvements that enhance facilities services and operations across the college. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative professional who enjoys problem-solving, process improvement, and making a meaningful impact on campus operations.

This position is Full-time non-permanent, not to exceed 18 months and with the possibility to transition into regular/permanent status, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, primarily 8am to 4:30pm.

This position works 100% of the time on-site.

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE.

What You Will Be Working On
  • Lead and enhance critical Facilities business operations, overseeing budgeting, procurement, contracting, capital project support, asset management, work-order reporting, and compliance functions that support the college's physical environment.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and key resource, providing expert guidance, consultation, and training to Facilities staff, campus partners, contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure effective operations and service delivery.
  • Help shape department operations and service excellence by interpreting policies and regulations, developing procedures and workflows, and implementing practices that promote accountability, efficiency, and customer service.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing operational challenges, identifying opportunities, and implementing solutions that strengthen Facilities programs, processes, and outcomes.
  • Provide financial stewardship for Facilities programs and projects, managing budgets and expenditures, monitoring financial performance, identifying trends, and supporting informed decision-making.
  • Ensure financial accuracy and accountability by overseeing complex transactions, contract documentation, vendor payments, and procurement activities that support departmental and institutional goals.
  • Transform data into actionable insights, researching and analyzing financial and operational information to develop reports, recommendations, and strategies that support leadership decision-making.
  • Support projects that shape the campus environment, coordinating administrative and financial activities for capital improvements, renovations, deferred maintenance, and other infrastructure initiatives.
  • Promote responsible resource management by coordinating asset and inventory programs that ensure accurate records, effective controls, and long-term stewardship of college resources.
