Operations Management
Do you know what it takes to be a top-performing supplier to the world’s leading aerospace companies?
We’re looking for someone who understands what major aerospace customers expect from their suppliers — because you’ve lived it.
You understand how customers measure supplier performance. Quality. Delivery. Production readiness. Program execution. Reporting. Responsiveness. And what happens when performance starts moving in the wrong direction.
You know the metrics, but you also know the metrics are only the beginning.
You know how to get underneath the numbers and figure out what’s really happening. You know how to identify what needs to change. And you know how to work across Quality, Operations, Program Management, site leadership and other functions to get things moving.
Experience working directly with Boeing is essential. Experience with other major aerospace OEMs is highly valued.
But knowing the customer is only part of this role. Because knowing what needs to happen is one thing. Getting people across an organization to make it happen is something entirely different.
This is an individual contributor role with significant influence across a global aerospace organization. You’ll work with Quality leaders, site leaders, operations teams, executives and customers across multiple divisions and locations.
None of those people necessarily work for you.
You’ll still need to get them on board.
That means building relationships. Establishing credibility. Asking the right questions. Understanding competing priorities. Knowing when to push and when to listen. And helping teams move from “here’s the problem” to “here’s what we’re going to do about it.”
If you need direct authority to make things happen, this probably isn’t the role for you.
If you’re exceptionally good at getting people to work together around something that needs to get done, keep reading.
What you’ll actually be doingYou’ll become a key connection point between major North American aerospace customers and multiple divisions across the organization.
You’ll understand what the customer expects, how they measure performance and what they need to see from their suppliers. Then you’ll help translate those expectations across the organization.
When performance isn’t where it needs to be, you won’t simply report the numbers.
You’ll work with the teams to understand why.
What’s the root cause? What’s getting in the way? What corrective actions or countermeasures need to happen? Who needs to be involved? What’s the plan? Is it actually moving? And how should we communicate the situation and the response back to the customer?
Over time, you’ll help build a more consistent approach for how the organization manages customer reporting, program reviews, production readiness and quality performance across its North American aerospace business.
The goal isn’t to impose another corporate process.
It’s to help the organization speak the customer’s language, anticipate what customers need and operate like the world-class supplier we expect to be.
You’ll spend your time:- Working directly with Boeing and other major aerospace customers on supplier performance, quality, production readiness and related issues.
- Building strong working relationships with Quality leaders, site leaders, operational teams and executives across the organization.
- Tracking OTD, OTQ and other customer performance measures — while understanding the operational story behind them.
- Helping teams identify root causes, corrective actions and countermeasures when performance issues arise.
- Driving action across multiple teams, sites and projects to make sure commitments don’t stall.
- Preparing teams for customer reviews, audits, program reviews and production-readiness discussions.
- Helping…
