About Our Family

We're a busy family with a 16‑month‑old son and a very fluffy dog. Both parents work full time and travel occasionally, and we're planning to grow our family in the coming years. We're also in the midst of an exciting transition as we move into a larger home and build out the systems needed to support a growing household.

We're looking for someone who can step confidently into this role and help manage a larger household, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes so our evenings and weekends can be focused on family time. This position blends household management, family support, and light childcare, with responsibilities that include overseeing household systems and vendors, managing day‑to‑day logistics, daycare pickup, cooking a few nights per week, and providing backup childcare when needed.

Who

You Are

You naturally take initiative and enjoy keeping a household running smoothly behind the scenes. You work independently with confidence, communicate clearly and thoughtfully, and take pride in creating order and consistency in a busy family home. You genuinely enjoy being around young children and dogs, and you're looking for a long‑term role where trust, reliability, and partnership matter.

Our ideal candidate is:

  • Proactive and self‑directed, spotting what needs to be done and taking action
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with strong follow‑through
  • A clear, kind communicator who keeps parents informed with thoughtful updates
  • Comfortable working independently while staying aligned with the family's priorities
  • Calm, dependable, and patient—especially with a toddler and day‑to‑day messes
  • Prideful in maintaining a home that feels stocked, orderly, and well‑run
  • Interested in being a trusted, long‑term part of a family's life
Key Responsibilities Household Management & Organization
  • Oversee household operations in a large home (~7,000 sq ft), helping establish efficient systems as the family settles into a new space
  • Reset and tidy main living areas daily (wipe surfaces, vacuum high‑traffic areas, load/unload dishwasher, etc.)
  • Hire, manage, and provide quality control for cleaning services
  • Create, maintain, and execute a recurring home maintenance schedule for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and seasonal tasks
  • Lead the setup and organization of household systems (closets, storage, pantry), collaborating with family on preferences while owning execution
  • Manage seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding)
  • Prepare for holidays, guest stays, and family events
  • Coordinate donations, packing/unpacking, and travel preparation
  • Supervise and coordinate vendors, both ongoing and ad hoc (handymen, plumbers, window washers, holiday décor installers, etc.)
  • Maintain indoor plants
Meal Preparation
  • Collaborate on meal planning and grocery lists to support the week ahead
  • Prepare dinner up to two nights per week aligned with family preferences
  • Grocery shop for meal ingredients and household needs as part of weekly planning
  • Clean and reset the kitchen after meal prep
  • Accommodate dietary needs and restrictions (including poppy seed allergy)
Inventory Management & Errands
  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Coordinate household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
  • Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping, knife sharpening
  • Handle mail, packages, and deliveries
Deep Cleaning & Maintenance
  • Coordinate and manage periodic deep‑cleaning services as needed…
