Position Summary

The Division Preconstruction Director is responsible for leading and overseeing all preconstruction activities from project inception through turnover to operations. This role ensures accurate estimating, effective cost planning, constructability review, and seamless coordination with internal teams and external partners to set projects up for successful execution.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Lead/oversee all preconstruction efforts including budgeting, estimating, scheduling input, and constructability analysis
  • Conduct project setup and lead preconstruction kickoff meetings
  • Collaborate with estimating, operations, purchasing, and project management teams to ensure alignment of scope, pricing, and execution strategy
  • Manage financial aspects of preconstruction including conceptual estimates, value engineering, and cost forecasting
  • Oversee proactive coordination of project scope to achieve maximum efficiency, accuracy, and cost control
  • Produce and review preconstruction reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Develop, implement, and enforce departmental policies, structure, reporting, and procedures related to preconstruction
  • Audit and oversee preconstruction deliverables including scope definition, cost controls, schedule assumptions, and risk analysis
  • Participate in project handoff meetings and support transition from preconstruction to operations
  • Conduct lessons learned meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Review records and reports essential to the effective operation of assigned projects and departmental responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction management or project management experience
    , with strong emphasis on preconstruction
  • Comprehensive understanding of estimating, cost controls, purchasing procedures, and logistics management
  • Strong working knowledge of construction drawings and specifications across all applicable disciplines
  • Electrical experience in Healthcare, Airports, Education, ECCM, Progressive Design Build, Design‑Assist is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional leadership, communication (oral and written), and active listening skills
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively with diverse teams and personalities
  • Highly organized with strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities

  • Industry‑leading compensation: $170,000 – $240,000 annually (DOE)
