We are partnering with a leading employee-owned general contractor to hire a Purchasing Agent III to support multiple active construction projects across the Seattle market. This is a procurement-focused role within a construction operations environment - ideal for candidates with a Project Engineer or Senior PE background who enjoy the technical and purchasing side of the business.
This position is not project-specific and is not a warehouse construction role. Instead, it supports ongoing projects by managing the procurement of contract-defined materials and coordinating closely with project teams, vendors, and preconstruction.
What They’re Looking For
- Background as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer
- Strong ability to read plans and understand construction documents
- Solid understanding of construction materials and installation methods

- Minimum of 3 years of construction industry experience
Core Responsibilities

- Define and communicate project requirements to vendors
- Review and align vendor proposals with contract scope, schedule, and budget
- Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, deliveries, and installations related to purchased materials
- Assist with budgeting, billing, and ERP-related processes
- Provide estimating support to Preconstruction teams
- Support the Purchasing Manager with business planning, growth initiatives, and training materials
- Office-based role supporting multiple projects
- General contracting / construction operations setting
- Highly collaborative team environment
Why This Role
- Opportunity to pivot from PE/SPE into a purchasing & procurement specialty
- Exposure to multiple projects rather than being tied to one jobsite
- Stable, long-term role with growth potential
- Strong benefits and employee-focused culture
If you’re detail-oriented, technically strong, and interested in the procurement side of construction, this is a great opportunity to apply your field and document knowledge in a broader operational role.
