Project Superintendent

Axiom is currently hiring a full-time Project Superintendent to join our construction team. We are looking for individuals who are looking to contribute their skills and experience to a great team of construction and design professionals.

Axiom Design Build’s Project Superintendents are the leaders on the jobsite. Their expertise in construction methods is essential to ensuring quality work, scheduling labor, and meeting client expectations. Superintendents are the link between the company’s office and field crew from Designers, Project Managers, the procurement team, and administrative team. The Superintendent is in charge of site logistics, coordinating and managing Axiom labor and subcontractors while overseeing quality control on every project.

This role demands exceptional construction knowledge and excellent customer service and communication skills. Superintendents also manage jobsite safety on every job to ensure company compliance with local, state and federal laws regarding workplace safety.

Axiom engages in high-end, custom residential projects in many communities throughout Seattle. Regardless of project location, scale, or budget, our field crew is expected to provide the highest level of customer service at all times.

REPORTS TO Director of Production, Project Manager, Director of Operations, Owners.

• In-depth knowledge of home building and remodeling
• Proficient at reading and interpreting architectural and structural plans
• Familiarity with reviewing shop drawings, door and window orders, cabinetry
• Understanding of construction schedules, order of work, critical path, and adjusting to changes
• Understanding of basic MEP requirements and expectations
• Basic understanding of building codes and safety regulations
• Excellent soft skills, communication, and time management
• Computer skills: MS Office, Windows 365, email, spreadsheets, collaboration platforms, basic apps

• Manage crews of carpenters and laborers effectively and efficiently
• Maintain and follow a detailed budget daily
• Adapt to change—daily or long-term—with flexibility and a good attitude
• Oversee and enforce general workplace and construction safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe jobsite and working environment
• Oversee between 1-4 jobs at a time depending on size and location
• Travel between jobs as necessary
• Coordinate Subcontractors effectively and efficiently on site
• Attend weekly project management meeting at the Axiom office
• Plan labor for each assigned job with a 2-week look-ahead and execute it accordingly
• Report weekly to the Project Managers on the progress of assigned jobs
• Help the procurement team as needed for jobsite cabinets, finishes, coverings, etc.
• Problem-solve issues onsite as they occur
• Attend client meetings as necessary
• Represent Axiom in a professional manner, including but not limited to appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
• Continue to train new carpenters in the trade to create a more collaborative environment

• Must participate in and pass a driving record history check
• Must pass a background check
• 5 years of experience as a Superintendent, or equivalent leadership role, in residential construction

Full-time, salaried position starting at $40-50 per hour, DOE
