Summary
Mortenson is currently seeking a Superintendent who will provide coordination, planning, and supervision to assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline area. The role focuses on enhancing customer relationships through excellent service.
This position offers opportunities at both Levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation is determined by factors such as experience and location.
Location:
Project assignment will start in New Mexico and end up at Denver area projects.
- Plan and implement materials, equipment, and inspections to support the project schedule
- Review construction documents for completeness and constructability, understand contract documents, and coordinate plans with design engineers
- Develop and manage the project schedule and site logistics plan, utilize tools and equipment, and collaborate with project partner superintendents
- Coach, supervise, and develop team members; conduct orientations, planning sessions, site meetings, supervise project partners, interview/hire/transfer/dismiss team members
- Ensure proper task coding, lead and track work progress, handle team member training, and conduct career development discussions
- Build effective relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Lead by example, offer coaching and feedback, and manage performance
- Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance; recognize and mitigate unfavorable conditions; and seek process improvements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years of trade experience
- Current driver’s license
- Ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
- Detail-oriented, able to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate company policies
- Effective communication and active listening skills; openness to diverse input and feedback; ability to travel up to 100%

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years construction management or related experience.
Base pay range: $111,400 Min - $167,100 Max. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
Superintendent IIMinimum Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years construction management or related experience.
Base pay range: $130,100 Min - $195,200 Max. Higher ranges apply in Denver, CO;
Chicago, IL;
Seattle, WA;
Portland, OR;
Washington, D.C.
