Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Occupational Health & Safety, Operations Manager
Position Responsibilities
- Preparing reports and recommending procedures to improve organizational performance
- Overseeing the overall integrity and quality of all Sunbelt Rentals safety protocols at individual profit centers within the assigned geographical area
- Conduct PC safety compliance inspections and audits in accordance with scheduled programs utilizing dedicated audit criteria including employee training, facility regulatory compliance, vehicle fleet/DOT compliance, shop and equipment rental fleet compliance
- Work with Profit Center Managers (PCM) to assign the correct Safety Coordinator to the location
- Provide training and guidance to Safety Coordinators in each Profit Center to ensure a consistent approach is taken regarding policies and procedures
- Identify deficiencies found during inspections; provide written evaluation of inspection with corrective action requirements; assist PCM and Service Manager in mandating time period for completion of corrective actions
- Deliver safety training modules to employees on an ongoing basis
- Assist PC Safety Coordinator as necessary with completion of required training, safety meeting coordination and completion, and maintenance of Safety Training & Documentation Manual
- Track and trend PCs in their respected areas to identify which locations are adhering to the Sunbelt Rentals Leading Indicator Program and which areas need attention due to an increase in lagging data
- Work with Regional Vice President (RVP) to develop an annual strategic SH&E Business Plan addressing prior year performance of the Region as well as annual targets for the Calendar and Fiscal Year
- Distribute a weekly report to RVP and District Managers describing recordable injuries, first aid injuries, VIRs, near misses, and trends in the Region
- Lead monthly Safety Coordinator Phone Call for all Coordinators in the region
- Develop agenda for and lead the annual Safety Coordinator Boot Camp in the Region
- Train and monitor staff on Sunbelt Rentals Behavior Based Safety Tools
- Support PCM and Safety Coordinator in the investigation of all incidents and appropriate near‑misses while assisting PCM in completion of reporting requirements and following up as necessary to support the claims managers
- Actively participate in PC monthly safety meetings, as well as assisting PCM/Service Manager in conducting Safety Stand Down meetings

Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field or equivalent work experience plus a minimum of 5 years working with Safety, Health and Environmental Management Systems and implementation of safety programs
- Good written and verbal skills when addressing either individuals or groups
- Ability to present information in classroom or conference call settings
- Ability to develop and execute a strategic plan that includes measurable goals based on leading and lagging indicator performance
- An observable positive attitude
- Ability to track and trend performance of multiple locations based on incident data obtained through internal tracking mechanisms
- Dependable, motivated, and self‑starter
- Ability to multi‑task and be highly organized
- Customer‑service oriented
- Ability and willingness to travel; overnight travel required
- General overview of OSHA construction and general industry regulation knowledge
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety
- Ability to foster credibility with PC Supervisors, Safety Coordinators, and PCMs
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines.

Base Pay RangeBase Pay Range: $98,532.
