Construction Manager

Amazon's Worldwide Grocery & Development, Physical Retail division is seeking a Construction Manager to manage various retail construction and renovation/remodel projects across the country. This is an entrepreneurial, high-impact role within a fast-moving, growing business team that requires dedication, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to deliver high-quality work  will serve as an integral part of the team working cross-functionally between Store Design, Store Operations, Facilities, Technology, Security, Loss Prevention, and Amazon vendors.

• Project & Program Delivery:
• Manage multiple construction and renovation projects simultaneously, effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors, and vendors.
• Establish and maintain project schedules and budgets; responsible for overall project delivery including all FF&E and construction.
• Deliver projects on time and on budget across a geographically distributed national portfolio.
• Manage high-volume project portfolios (200+ projects simultaneously) with quick response to emerging priorities, maintaining on-time delivery across all active work streams.
• Autonomously drive large-scale, multi-site program from initiation through closeout with minimal oversight, balancing competing priorities across a national portfolio.
• Capital & Life Cycle Planning:
• Develop and execute capital planning strategies and life cycle replacement schedules for critical building equipment (HVAC, refrigeration, controls, lighting, fire/life safety systems) to maximize asset performance and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Partner with Critical Infrastructure and Facilities teams to align capital investment with equipment condition assessments, R&M spend reduction targets, and long-term asset preservation goals.
• Lead proactive capital investment strategies to reduce Repair & Maintenance expenditures and extend the operational life of critical systems.
• Data-Driven Decision Making:
• Leverage project data, cost analytics, and performance metrics to inform decision-making, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement across the program.
• Work with financial and operational data to drive high-volume program autonomously, surfacing insights to leadership and adjusting priorities in real time.
• Participate in the design development process to collaborate and value-engineer construction methods to reduce time and cost.
• Site Management & Compliance:
• Provide on-site supervision during the construction process, including management of General Contractors and Owner vendors.
• Manage change order negotiations and contract compliance, adhering to AIA contract documentation processes.
• Ensure contractor compliance with life safety/OSHA requirements on all job sites to minimize risk.
• Serve as the liaison to developer/landlord representatives to coordinate building envelope delivery.
• Establish effective relationships and an understanding of municipalities and permit processes.
• Lead job site meetings, produce minutes, and strive for a collaborative team environment.
