Job Description & How to Apply Below

A leading Seattle-based general contractor is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of complex commercial construction projects across the Pacific Northwest. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the work, partnering with Project Managers and Superintendents, and playing a key role in keeping projects organized, coordinated, and moving forward.

The company is known for delivering highly technical projects across sectors such as life sciences, healthcare, higher education, office, technology/R&D, civic, and commercial construction. This role would suit someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and ready to take the next step in their project management career.

Position Overview

The Senior Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager and project team with day-to-day project coordination, documentation, subcontractor communication, procurement tracking, cost support, and technical problem-solving. This person will act as a central point of communication between the field, office, design team, ownership group, and subcontractors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer who is ready for more responsibility, greater project exposure, and a clear path toward an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to support project execution.
  • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Support subcontractor coordination, procurement, material tracking, and equipment planning.
  • Assist with subcontractor change orders, owner change orders, and related project documentation.
  • Review drawings and specifications to help ensure work is completed in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Work closely with the Superintendent and field team to resolve coordination issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Support project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on key action items.
  • Assist with cost tracking, budget updates, billings, projections, and project controls.
  • Help maintain project schedules by tracking deliverables, procurement dates, and critical milestones.
  • Support quality control, safety coordination, closeout documentation, and punch list management.
  • Serve as an information hub for the project team, ensuring clear communication and continuity of work.
Compensation

The base salary range for this position is:
