Facilities Project Manager

Job Description The Facilities Project Manager leads facility improvement, renovation, and expansion projects from initial planning through successful completion. This role oversees building upgrades, equipment installations, and infrastructure enhancements while coordinating contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The Facilities Project Manager develops and manages project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with quality and operational standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead facility expansion, renovation, and infrastructure improvement projects from concept through completion.
  • Develop detailed project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans to support facility initiatives.
  • Coordinate and manage contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, risks, and milestones, and adjust plans as needed to keep projects on track.
  • Lead regular project meetings and provide clear, timely status updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee request for proposal (RFP) processes, capital expenditure requests, and all related project documentation.
  • Ensure all projects are executed safely, in compliance with relevant standards, and completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage capital projects and facility upgrades, including building improvements and equipment installation projects.
  • Drive effective vendor and contractor management, including performance oversight and issue resolution.
  • Implement and maintain robust project scheduling and risk mitigation practices to minimize disruptions.
  • Coordinate permitting activities and ensure required approvals are obtained to support construction and renovation work.
  • Utilize project management tools and Microsoft applications to track deliverables, document decisions, and report progress.
  • Collaborate closely with operations and engineering teams to ensure projects align with operational needs and constraints.
  • Maintain organized project records, including contracts, budgets, schedules, and change orders.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an operations or engineering environment.
  • 8+ years of project management experience in facilities, operations, engineering, or construction environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing operational and capital projects from planning through completion.
  • Proven experience leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience managing capital projects, facility upgrades, and contractor relationships.
  • Strong budgeting and budget management skills, including capital expenditure oversight.
  • Strong project scheduling skills and experience using project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and other project management tools.
  • Experience with construction management and renovations.
  • Experience with contractor management and vendor coordination.
  • Strong risk management and risk mitigation capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Facilities management experience, including facility expansion and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Understanding in construction management, including permitting processes.
  • Experience with equipment installation projects in operational environments.
  • Experience managing vendor and contractor relationships across multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with capital project planning and execution in facilities or industrial settings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio for process mapping, layouts, or visual documentation.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams in operations, engineering, and facilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
