Position: Project Manager (Healthcare Interiors)

Take the Lead in Building Medical Spaces. Join Liberty Construction as a Project Manager.

Salary: $85,000 to $95,000 per year, plus a 0.5% bonus on every project delivered on time.

Liberty Construction is a family-owned general contractor specializing in healthcare interior build-outs across the DMV region. We are looking for a Project Manager to own healthcare fit-out projects from preconstruction through closeout.

ABOUT

THE ROLE

You will run multiple healthcare interior fit-out projects at once, typically $300K to $2M on 90 to 120 day schedules. You are the primary point of contact for the client: you build and hold the schedule, manage the budget, coordinate owners, architects, and subcontractors, and make the calls that keep the job moving. Our clients are private practice owners, so you are often the person helping a doctor understand what is happening to their space and their money.

You will work out of our Rockville office with 1 to 2 job site visits per week, all within an hour.

HOW WE RUN OUR PROJECTS

Liberty is a technology-forward contractor and our project teams work that way every day. Every employee is issued a company iPad, and all project documentation and communication runs through Procore and Gmail: budgets, submittals, RFIs, change orders, drawings, daily logs, and closeout. We schedule in Smartsheet and coordinate internally in Asana. Nothing important lives in a text thread or a spreadsheet on someone's desktop.

If you already run your projects this way, you will move fast here. If you are not there yet but want to be, we will train you. What we ask is that you are genuinely comfortable with technology and willing to keep your projects current.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own multiple active healthcare interior build-outs from preconstruction through closeout
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, and engineers
  • Build and maintain project schedules in Smartsheet and hold the critical path
  • Manage project budgets, track costs, and report on margin
  • Price, negotiate, and process change orders
  • Coordinate design changes during construction with owners, architects, and subcontractors
  • Buy out trades and ensure subcontractors understand scope, schedule, and contract obligations
  • Lead weekly owner and internal project meetings
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, and long-lead procurement in Procore
  • Monitor material delivery timelines and resolve scheduling conflicts
  • Partner closely with the site superintendent to keep field and office aligned
  • Drive punch list, closeout documentation, and owner handover
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ years of experience as a Project Manager at a commercial general contractor
  • Bachelor's degree required. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related AEC field is preferred.
  • Commercial interior fit-out experience required. Healthcare or Gov Con experience is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with MEP systems and finish trades (drywall, flooring, electrical, plumbing)
  • Proficiency with construction documents and project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, Smartsheet)
  • Comfortable working from an iPad and running projects digitally
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills, especially with non-construction clients
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Must live in the DMV (Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia)
  • Preferred:
Assisted Living or senior care facility experience, SBE project work, OSHA 10 or 30
TRANSPORTATION

This role is hybrid out of our Rockville office with 1 to 2 local job site visits per week, all within an hour. You must have a valid driver's license and provide your own reliable vehicle. Liberty pays a monthly fuel and mileage stipend for job site travel. There is no overnight travel.
