It’s an exciting moment for archives and digital technologies—we are looking for someone with experience leading a digital operations department in the archive, library, and/or cultural heritage sector;

designing, implementing and maintaining information management technologies and systems in the archive, library, and/or cultural heritage sector; overseeing the creation and maintenance of digitization/digital imaging workflows and digital asset management; and creating and managing websites to maximize discoverability, accessibility, and audience engagement.

The Archives of American Art (AAA) is a trusted source, empowering an expansive history of American art and culture. Founded at the Detroit Institute of Arts in 1954, the AAA collects, preserves, and makes available primary sources documenting the visual arts of the United States. Housed within the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, since 1970, the AAA builds and cares for a national collection of great breadth and depth.
