News Producer

KOMO/KUNS has an immediate opening for a creative News Producer! In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts. This position will also work closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk and Anchors on the newscast and its content. In this position you will determine the content and flow of newscasts, work with management and on‑air staff to generate and write stories and develop content for our website and for live, digital programming.

• Execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
• Flexibility and on‑the‑spot problem‑solving abilities
• Proficient with non‑linear editing (e.g., Avid) and newsroom systems, such as iNews

• Strong interest in digital and streaming news production, even if primary experience is in traditional TV
• Understanding of how digital audiences consume news differently from broadcast viewers
• Willingness to experiment with new formats, platforms, and audience engagement strategies
• Ability to adapt broadcast content for streaming, social, and on‑demand platforms
• Comfortable using analytics and audience feedback to inform editorial decisions
• Creative, forward‑thinking mindset with a desire to help grow a daily digital program

• At least 2 years producing a daily newscast
• 4‑year Journalism degree preferred

The hourly compensation range for this role is $29.27 to $42.79. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
