Prime Video Japan is a leading entertainment destination with a compelling local slate across original content (scripted and unscripted), Anime and Sports. The Creative Director's role sits within the JP marketing org (part of the larger APAC marketing org), and directly influences our customer's perception of this slate with impactful marketing assets. The Creative Director (CD) will work with a small in-house creative team and network agencies to own creative development of AVs (trailers, teasers, promos) and statics (key visuals) that drive overall awareness and intent to join the world of Prime Video.
As a Creative Director, you will hold the local cultural nuance of entertainment marketing, while producing highly impactful, global-standard work. You will define strategy, influence creative vision and drive unified alignment amongst internal and external peers and leaders. You will lean in on your skills and expertise to constantly produce high bar work, while being open and flexible to feedback.
This role is based out of our Tokyo office in Japan.
Key job responsibilities- Developing a compelling creative suite (AVs and Statics) across Prime Video JP's local content slate
- Working and guiding in‑house creative teams of creative and art producers and managing large network agencies
- Managing creative budgets across all aspects of creative production including pre and post production, agency retainers, and campaign management
- Guide external agencies toward bar‑raising creative by writing compelling briefs and closely partnering on creative development
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop creative concepts that align with brand and business objectives
- Set a creative vision and strategy and driving cross‑board alignment with peers and leaders
- Raise the creative bar by leveraging and translating design and motion trends alongside industry innovations (automation, AI, etc.)
- Closely partner with APAC and WW creative colleagues influencing global style guides, sharing information, results, and inspiration
Prime Video's APAC creative team is a mix of Creative Directors, Art Directors and Creative Producers who work across marketing assets and innovations. We are agile, always curious to learn more, and drive impactful innovation. You will be joining a tribe of ex‑advertising creatives, filmmakers, designers, writers, and thinkers who are all bonded by a passion to create magic. The Prime Video JP team is a small but agile team that strives to achieve a high bar of creativity and consistently delivers to well defined goals.

- 2+ years of project/resource management working with an in‑house creative agency or external agency experience
- Experience leading prioritization of tasks, team scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines
- Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- 8+ years of creative services experience
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese at a business level or above (N1+)
- Knowledge of Adobe design programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design
- Experience art directing motion designers, illustrators, writers and content creators
- Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote
- Experience leading creative development of innovative creative from concept to delivery
- Have an online portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills and advertising experience across a range of media and platforms, along with work that reflects your design process
- Strong storytelling and pitch development skills
Experience utilizing AI and automation to improve efficiencies and creative output
