KING-TV a TEGNA NBC affiliate in Seattle, WA has an amazing opportunity for an innovative and enterprising Anchor who is an excellent on‑camera communicator and reporter. We are looking for a professional who brings meticulous preparation, energy, excellent writing skills, and a strong knowledge of current events to the anchor desk. The successful candidate will show strong journalism sensibilities and the ability to foster sources to break big, exclusive stories in the Seattle market.

This is a newsroom that values hustle, enterprise reporting, and accountability journalism.

Responsibilities
  • Anchor the weekend evening newscasts and provide strong editorial leadership to the weekend team.
  • Collaborate with producers to write news copy and create unique, fast‑paced, innovative newscasts.
  • Handle sustained, unscripted, breaking news coverage on streaming and linear platforms.
  • Pitch and report leadable stories during assigned reporting shifts.
  • Execute active and engaging live shots.
  • Create mobile shorts for our mobile app, social media, and streaming platforms.
  • Understand the tenets of professional and ethical journalism.
  • Speaking a second language is a plus.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3–5 years anchoring and reporting experience.
  • Must possess solid news judgment, strong communication and ethical decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent writing and story organization skills are a must.
  • Must be organized with the ability to work under constant deadlines.
  • Proven social and digital content creation ability.
  • Being flexible and resilient in a rapidly changing media environment is essential.
  • ENPS, EDIUS and Axis graphics experience is preferred.
  • This position is full‑time, salaried, and Union represented.
  • A current driver’s license and ability to drive to and from locations at times is required.
Pay Range

$90,000–$115,000 USD

Benefits

TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families. TEGNA offers two medical plan options for full and part‑time employees through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, as well as access to dental and eye care coverage; fertility, surrogacy and adoption assistance; disability and life insurance.

Our 401(k) program offers full, part‑time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre‑tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.

Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, all employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.

TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.

Some jobs are covered by a collective bargaining agreement and thus some or all of the benefits described herein may not apply. For example, some newsroom bargaining unit employees receive health and retirement benefits under plans administered by the union.
