Staff UX Designer, Visual and Motion

Google Beam is an AI-first, 3D video communication platform for life-sized collaboration. As a Staff UX Designer, you will be a hybrid motion and visual expert who will design new platform experiences. You will bridge aesthetics and movement, prototyping and crafting narratives for 3D and AI products. You will solve ambiguous problems, pioneer generative AI workflows, and establish cohesive motion guidelines across environments.

Powered by realistic state-of-the-art 3D imaging and spatial audio and integrated with today's leading remote video platforms, Google Beam enables you to be immersed in the moment, together.

As a part of the Google Beam team, you'll work with incredible teammates across all major functions in a fast-paced product-oriented environment. Your contributions will have an impact on the future of communications with Google products.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and galvanize the long-term product and user experience strategy for the Beam platform, driving alignment among cross-functional leaders.
  • Pioneer the cinematic future of the platform by creating concept reels and high-fidelity motion mockups as a hybrid motion and visual specialist.
  • Author a premium motion language and establish standards for visual and motion systems within 3D environments to ensure a cohesive identity.
  • Partner with User Research to evaluate the emotional resonance and usability of premium motion and visual patterns through high-fidelity simulations.
  • Resolve highly ambiguous spatial design challenges, including geospatial design and depth-based visual hierarchy, employing rapid high-fidelity visualization to scale features.
