West Seattle Animal Hospital is Hiring a Client Care Receptionist!

  • Status: Full-time
  • Salary: $21 – $23 per hour
  • Schedule: 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts, Monday
    - Friday

Growing veterinary office seeks additional full‑time Client Care Receptionist to join our team. Although this position is ideal for someone who enjoys companion pets, it is not a hands‑on animal position.

The Ideal candidate for this position is someone who:

  • Works well on a team as well as independently
  • Has impeccable customer service skills
  • Has computer, typing, and software skills
  • Is self‑motivated and able to stay calm while working efficiently

Job duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Greeting clients in a friendly & professional manner
  • Handling multi‑line phones while multitasking
  • Managing patient charts both electronic & paper
  • Processing/billing invoices, cash handling
  • Scheduling a variety of appointment types
  • Prepping/cleaning exam rooms

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience assisting customers both in person and over the phone is required; this should be in an office/medical setting.
  • Prior experience in an animal care setting is highly preferred (1 year minimum).
  • Knowledge in using multi‑line phones,
  • Have general computer skills/knowledge (Microsoft Office, Google Chrome) and the ability to learn new software quickly
  • Dependability and punctuality are a must. The pets in our care count on us to be there.

Overview of the position:

  • Our Client Care Receptionists (CCR) answer the phone, differentiate between routine and emergency cases, schedule appointments, greet clients, admit and check out patients, process payments, manage financial information, and communicate information between clients and staff.
  • The CCR enjoys working with people and diverse clients and is caring, friendly, and efficient. They create a warm and welcoming impression, remaining professional and courteous while handling multiple tasks with many interruptions.
  • Our CCRs firmly believe in the quality of care provided and communicate this sense of assurance to clients. They understand our services and recommendations and clearly communicate them to clients
  • CCRs empathize with clients and remain compassionate and well‑mannered in the face of emergency situations. Ultimately, it is the CCR who creates a good first and last impression on our clients. The importance of this role cannot be overemphasized

This position is:
Full‑time is 4 days per week, approximately 36‑39 hours per week. Part‑time is 2‑3 days per week, approximately 15‑34 hours per week. (weekday shifts are approx.
10hrs long & weekend shifts are approx. 8hrs long) You must be available to work both weekday and weekend shifts.
