Position: Part-Time Race Operations Assistant

Summary

Run For Good Racing Company is hiring two Part-Time Race Operations Assistants to support running and walking events throughout the greater Seattle area.

This is not simply a race-day support role. It is a hands-on position where you can experience the full process of preparing and delivering community running events.

  • Competitive hourly rate
    : $35-$40 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications
  • End-to-end race operations experience
    :
    Participate in everything from event preparation and logistics to race-day execution
  • Direct collaboration with local experts
    :
    Work closely with an experienced Race Director and the local running community
  • Active, field-based work
    :
    Gain hands-on experience across logistics, participant support, and community outreach

Weekend availability is required throughout the race season, and attendance at all scheduled race events is mandatory. Weekday work will also be required for race preparation and operations, with specific schedules and hours assigned flexibly based on the event calendar and operational workload.

Run For Good Racing Company is a Seattle-based race production and operations company with more than 15 years of experience organizing running and walking events.

We produce our own races, support event production for nonprofit organizations, and provide race operations consulting. Our mission is to create fun, accessible, community-focused events that encourage healthy activity and support community organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Responsibilities Race and Event Operations
  • Support race preparation, venue setup, packet pickup, on-site operations, and post-event breakdown
  • Prepare and check race packets, awards, volunteer materials, signage, equipment, and other event supplies
Logistics and Inventory Management
  • Receive, transport, organize, store, and maintain event equipment and delivered supplies
  • Purchase operating supplies and manage orders or reservations for shirts, medals, awards, promotional items, and rental vehicles
Participant Support and Administrative Assistance
  • Respond to participant email inquiries and support on-site check-in
  • Prepare and print event materials and manage race-specific preparation checklists
Community Outreach and Partner Support
  • Distribute promotional materials to local running stores and community groups and support promotional booths at external events
  • Assist with email outreach to prospective sponsors and local partners
Qualifications
  • Responsible, organized, and able to manage details carefully
  • Able to work independently and complete assigned tasks without continuous supervision
  • Physically able to carry equipment and perform event operations duties
  • Able to communicate effective in English
  • Available to work weekends throughout the race season
  • Able to attend all scheduled Run For Good race events
  • Able to travel among storage facilities, vendors, packet pickup locations, and race venues throughout the greater Seattle area
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting running races, sporting events, festivals, or other in-person events
  • Experience in event logistics, inventory management, customer service, retail, or hospitality
  • Familiarity with running events as a staff member, volunteer, or participant
  • Bilingual in Korean and English (preferred, not required)
  • Residence in or near Edmonds or Shoreline
  • Experience independently managing multiple responsibilities in a small-team environment
