Role: Client Care Receptionist (CCR)
Status: Full-time
Salary: $22–$23 per hour
Schedule: Four days per week with Saturday availability required

West Seattle Animal Hospital is looking for an exceptional Client Care Receptionist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys companion animals, but whose real superpower is working with people.

While this is not a hands-on animal-care position, our Client Care Receptionists are essential members of the veterinary team. You’ll be one of the first people our clients interact with and one of the last they see before heading home. From answering phones and coordinating appointments to supporting clients during stressful situations, you’ll play an important role in creating a warm, professional, and positive hospital experience.

What our Client Care Receptionist Do

Our Client Care Receptionists keep communication flowing between clients and the medical team while helping the hospital stay organized and efficient.

  • Greet clients and patients warmly and professionally
  • Answer and manage a multi-line phone system while balancing competing priorities
  • Recognize the difference between routine and potentially urgent or emergency situations and communicate appropriately with the medical team
  • Schedule a variety of veterinary appointment types
  • Check clients and patients in and out
  • Coordinate communication between clients, veterinarians, technicians, and other hospital team members
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper patient records and client information
  • Prepare and process invoices and payments
  • Handle cash and other financial transactions accurately
  • Communicate hospital services, recommendations, and general information clearly and professionally
  • Help clients understand next steps and information provided by the medical team
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms as needed
  • Restock retail and hospital items
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming reception environment
  • Provide compassionate support during stressful, emotional, or urgent situations
  • Create a positive first and last impression for every client who visits our hospital

What You’ll Bring
