Job Summary
The dental hygienist will provide preventive dental care by conducting hygiene assessments, oral screenings, periodontal evaluations, and routine procedures while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role involves collaborating with the dental team to support treatment plans, educating patients on oral health, and maintaining accurate documentation to promote high-quality, patient‑centered care.
Required Qualifications- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene (depending on the program)
- Successful completion of a dental hygiene program accredited by CODA of the ADAC
- Certifications:
AHAARC, BLS, 10‑Digit NPI, Certified in Radiography - License to practice as a Dental Hygienist
- Minimum of 1 year of specialized experience following post‑graduation from a dental hygiene school
- US citizenship is required
- Perform dental hygiene assessments, including review of medical and dental histories
- Conduct oral health screenings and periodontal evaluations to identify signs of oral disease
- Perform preventive dental procedures such as dental prophylaxis, cleanings, scaling and root planning
- Apply fluoride sealants and desensitizing agents
- Expose and evaluate dental radiographs in accordance with radiography certification and safety standards
- Assist in the early detection and documentation of oral diseases or abnormalities and report findings to the dentist
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques (brushing, flossing, dietary recommendations)
- Provide individualized preventive care guidance to promote long‑term oral health
- Explain dental procedures, preventive treatments, and post‑treatment instructions clearly and compassionately
- Work collaboratively with dentists and other dental team members to support treatment plans and continuity of care
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures as needed
- Prepare patients and treatment areas to maximize comfort, safety, and efficiency
- Accurately document clinical findings, treatments rendered, and patient education in dental records
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA, infection control, and HIPAA standards
- Follow established protocols related to sterilization, instrument processing, and clinical safety
- Maintain active licensure to practice as a Dental Hygienist in accordance with state requirements
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practice
- Support efficient clinic operations by maintaining readiness of equipment, instruments, and supplies
- Promote a safe, respectful, and patient‑centered clinical environment
- Assist with quality assurance initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of clinical services
Onsite, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm.
Work location:
Aviano or Vincenza, Italy.
