Position Summary

Dental Assistant works under a dentist’s supervision to perform prosthodontic exams used for implant treatment planning, supports the Patient Education Consultants, and assists with a variety of patient care tasks, including clinical, office, and laboratory duties.

Responsibilities
  • Support and assist PECs in patient treatment acceptance.
  • Collaborate with doctors and clinical staff to ensure patient adherence to treatment plans, including medical clearances, interventions, treatment goals, and self‑management goals.
  • Provide chair‑side assistance while dentists examine and treat patients.
  • Prepare materials for impressions and restorations, take and process dental x‑rays as directed by a dentist.
  • Support dental and surgical assistants as needed, including cleaning trays and setting up and cleaning rooms.
  • Ensure patients are comfortable in the dental chair, prepare them for treatment, and obtain their dental records.
  • Review prosthetic evaluation paperwork, consents, and medical history with patients.
  • Complete needs assessments of high‑risk patients, manage medical clearances, and follow up on delayed treatments.
  • Coordinate with front office, prosthodontist, and oral surgeon regarding patient health, needs, lab script, and treatment plan finalization.
  • Clarify medication with patients and their medical doctors, addressing any health history concerns.
  • Communicate appropriately to patients and families regarding treatment.
  • Assist in marketing efforts to increase patient lead generation as needed.
  • Obtain dental records such as impressions, x‑rays, intra‑ and extra‑oral pictures, bite registration, face bow, and medical records.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, phases, consent forms, pre‑op and post‑op instructions.
  • Correspond with other doctors and physicians to obtain patient medical clearances.
  • Assist with other patient appointments as instructed by the dentist.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Dental hygiene experience, preferably with implant experience.
  • Reliable, works well with others in a fast‑paced environment, with good manual dexterity.
  • Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Physical Requirements
  • Work in an office environment at own or others’ desks/offices.
  • Walk the floor, occasionally for extended periods.
  • Lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Keep hand and arm steady while manipulating small objects.
  • Adjust machine controls precisely.
  • Bend, stretch, twist, or reach with the body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Coordinate two or more limbs while sitting or standing.
  • Use trunk strength to support the body continuously without fatigue.
  • Shift between multiple activities or information sources.
Compensation

Salary: $28.00 - $32.00 hourly. Sign‑on bonus: $2000.
