Dental Hygienist, Locum

Overview

The Dental Hygienist will develop and implement individualized dental care plans for patients, perform patient education, discharge planning, and patient/family teaching under the supervision of a qualified dentist. Work in partnership and joint accountability with other team members to achieve Neighbor care's Mission, Guiding Principles, Service Commitments and Goals.

• Assess dental conditions and needs of patients; perform patient screening procedures including medical history review, dental charting, and perio charting; obtain patient vital signs as required. Deliver direct patient care using established dental hygiene procedures, including routine treatments such as cleaning, polishing, taking x-rays, applying sealants and fluorides, and related procedures.
• Document dental history or chief complaints; record and report pertinent observations and patient reactions to dental staff; document lab procedures and ensure follow-up on results in electronic dental records and electronic health records.
• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment; may supervise or train students as part of their professional education at Neighbor care Health.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Completed an accredited dental hygiene program
• Active Dental Hygiene license with the Washington State Department of Health
• CPR/BLS

• Prior experience as a Dental Hygienist

  The target wage range for this position is $58.45 per hour to $72.32 per hour. Final offers are individually based on factors including skill set, years of experience, location, qualifications, work schedule and other job-related reasons.
