Overview
Project/Program Manager II (PPMII) oversees outreach to individuals diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB) infection during immigration exams, develops communication strategies directed at community members and providers about TB infection, leads engagement with provider organizations, and supports team activities such as community events and responses to calls and emails.
Responsibilities- Conduct outreach with healthcare providers and their organizations related to TB education and guidance.
- Coordinate with healthcare partners, pharmacies, and other organizations to streamline TB services.
- Oversee and respond to latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) related questions and triage to appropriate personnel.
- Contribute to grant writing to fund initiatives that reduce barriers to testing, treating, and reporting of LTBI.
- Respond to inquiries, facilitate meetings, and conduct presentations to inform partners of TB updates.
- Coordinate with internal programs, teams, and task forces focused on engaging providers who serve communities at higher risk for TB.
- Engage with internal and external partners about LTBI reporting.
- Support the development of messaging and communication to reach communities at higher risk of TB.
- Facilitate and build capacity of stakeholders to share information about TB.
- Research and conduct outreach to inform innovative ways to provide TB services and engage communities.
- Manage texting outreach and conduct evaluations to assess treatment initiation and completion.
- Assist with budget monitoring and development.
- Perform data analysis independently or as assigned.
- Produce monthly and quarterly work program reports.
- Write reports or issue papers summarizing analysis or research.
- Serve on inter‑jurisdictional committees and/or coalitions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience with project management for a medical or public health project or related.
- Experience coordinating with external partners and stakeholders such as healthcare providers, medical associations, or community‑based organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide consultation and technical assistance to providers and community partners.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and carry out assignments and responsibilities reliably, thoroughly, accurately, and timely.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing with supervisors, co‑workers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Experience creating and delivering public health messaging to a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated experience and ability in building internal and external partnerships with providers and community organizations.
- Experience and skill in working with diverse populations and cultures, and supporting anti‑racist principles of equity and social justice.
- Experience using process metrics to inform program success and make adaptations as needed.
- Good judgment and comfort in making independent decisions while understanding limitations and escalating as needed.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and projects in a rapidly changing environment, with effective planning and prioritization.
- Experience with office automation (MS Office 365), other web‑enabled tools, and multiple large databases.
- Proficiency and comfort with computer use to perform essential functions of the position.
- Experience with or knowledge of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI), especially how to communicate orally and in writing about it to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of barriers to LTBI care and experience addressing those barriers.
- Background in public health, health education, health services, or related field.
- Experience in a local or state public health setting.
- Two or more years of TB experience.
- Knowledge of project management principles.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and comprehend new and complex bodies of knowledge efficiently.
- Skill in working effectively as a team member to coordinate accomplishment of specific tasks.
