Dental Assistant II – Posting #26284Hourly Rate: $21.99
Position SummaryFull‑time Dental Assistant II position at our Seattle, WA dental clinic. The Dental Assistant will provide dental providers with chair‑side assistance using four‑handed dentistry techniques as specified in the Dental Assistant Manual, assisting with diagnostic, preventative, restorative, endodontic, periodontal, oral surgery, prosthodontic, orthodontic and other services permitted by the Washington Dental Practice Act. The role includes patient education and instruction before, during and after procedures, obtaining accurate blood pressure and vital signs, and assisting patients with treatment planning, cost estimates and treatment sequencing.
The assistant will complete insurance pre‑authorizations, verify eligibility and benefits, and support training of new employees and trainees. Duties may vary with clinic activity and may include temporary assignments to other departments or sites.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Have completed a formal Dental Assistant program at a college, technical institute or equivalent.
- Minimum work experience: 6 months in a Dental Assistant position, or 18 months for those with no formal training.
- Registration: All Dental Assistants must be registered with the Washington State Department of Health; current registration is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR: Obtain within 90 days of hire and maintain it continuously.
- TB testing: Annually.
- Bilingual English/Spanish: Preferred, not required.
