Position: Project Designer (Architect Level I, Licensed or Non-licensed)

Project Designer (Architect Level I)

Northwest Studio is a Seattle based architecture and urban design practice. Since 2016, the studio has developed a distinctive approach that examines the fundamental conditions, and conventions, of every project in order to ask more relevant questions to create more resonant work. The studio’s creative work ranges from buildings and interiors to urban environments across North America.

Role Overview

Northwest Studio is seeking an experienced Project Designer to assist the studio in developing and executing conceptually and technically rigorous design solutions. Candidates will demonstrate strong design and technical skills, and enthusiasm about working collaboratively to actively shape our growing and diverse body of work.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and executing conceptually and technically rigorous design solutions.
  • Collaborate with studio staff and partners to design and document a wide variety of project types.
  • Engage in a wide range of activities from strategic thinking to the execution of projects through Contract Administration.
  • Cross-pollinate relevant design and technical strategies across a range of project types.
Qualifications
  • Professional degree in Architecture.
  • Between 3 and 5 years of experience.
  • Strong design and technical skills, excellent ability to communicate graphically and through writing.
  • Proficient in Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Suite; working knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • Licensed is preferred but not required; actively recording AXP experience and/or pursuing licensure acceptable.
