As a Project Architect on our Cities & Places team in Bellevue, WA you’ll be responsible for managing projects that enhance organizational performance and achieve the client’s business objectives utilizing best practices. Our goal is to develop innovative architectural design concepts that are practical, aesthetic, safe, and conducive to intended purpose and function, reflect client goals, and are within project budget and schedule.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring the overall design intent of the project established by the Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed documentation.
- Monitors the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring the design idea is consistent and properly executed.
- Responsible for technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project.
- Works with the project specification writer to develop specifications and is responsible for coordination of drawings and specifications.
- Checks completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations for accuracy.
- Works to implement the overall strategy for producing the documents and participates in organizing the sheets planned for each stage of the work. This includes defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM).
- Works with BIM Manager to define and set up project team software parameters and works with team BIM Lead to manage project standards.
- Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the entire Project Team.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience.
- 10-15 years’ architecture experience.
- Licensed Architect with current registration.
- Proficiency in Revit; familiarity with BIM coordination workflows.
- Will not now or in the future require sponsorship for an employment visa to work for Jacobs in the U.S.
- Master’s degree.
- Washington architecture license.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer‑supplier appropriateness.
- Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
- NCARB registration.
- LEED AP.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Knowledge of QA/QC process.
- Knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, Enscape and InDesign graphic software preferred. Other graphic tools and knowledge encouraged.
- Strong organizational, communications (verbal, written, as well as hand sketching), and leadership abilities are required.
- In-depth understanding of building codes and their application to projects.
- Understanding of building materials, systems, and methods of construction and specifications.
- Understanding of integration of building services, building core, and envelope elements.
- Experience leading projects working alongside a core & shell/developer team.
- Comfort working in a fast paced, collaborative project environment including ground‑up and Tenant Improvement projects.
