Project Architect – Transportation Architecture Studio

Our Transportation Architecture Studio is engaged in a variety of transportation projects with local and regional transportation agencies. Project Architects work closely with the other members of the Transportation Architecture Studio to develop creative, analytically based design solutions for complex projects. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of building assemblies and excellent detailing skills. They will create Architectural Construction Documents, including Architectural detailing, and have a strong understanding of zoning and building codes.

Candidates must be flexible in their approach, hardworking, energetic, and curious to uncover unseen opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Produce Architectural Construction Document drawing sets in coordination with specifications for projects of various sizes
  • Develop architectural design and detailing
  • Provide guidance to junior team members
  • Understand agency and stakeholder goals
  • Collaborate and coordinate with multiple disciplines across the project team
  • Collaboratively contribute to studio and firm efforts
  • Coordinate with entitlement and permitting agencies
Qualifications
  • 7-10+ years of experience, including substantial experience in the production of Construction Documents and involvement in Construction Administration
  • Strong understanding of building assemblies and detailing
  • Previous experience with transportation projects is a plus
  • Excellent Revit skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Architecture degree (Master of Architecture, Bachelor of Architecture, or similar) from an accredited program
  • Architect licensure is beneficial but not required
  • Sketching and hand drawing communication skills
