Senior Designer, Interiors
HDR is seeking a Senior Designer, Interiors to join our growing team and contribute to designing spaces that enhance community well‑being. The role focuses on design excellence, collaboration across disciplines, and mentorship.
Responsibilities- Collaborate across disciplines and market sectors in project delivery, presenting and documenting design concepts to stakeholders.
- Demonstrate expert‑level knowledge of the interior design process from programming through construction administration.
- Develop professional networks and new business opportunities, including client interviews and presentations to win new projects and clients.
- Advocate for improving and maintaining project excellence.
- Serve as a role model and mentor, inspiring and developing team members.
- Contribute to formal and informal design reviews.
- Support office environments and promote HDR’s brand.
- Assist in the interview process for new hires as appropriate.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge related to documents and details across all project phases.
- Encourage sustainable approaches and practices to foster healthy environments and occupant well‑being.
- Collaborate and co‑create ideas and concepts with a team and across disciplines for successful project delivery at all scales and complexities.
- Professional registration/licensure at the local level.
- Developing leadership, collaboration, mentoring, motivational, organizational, and people skills.
- Active member of industry associations.
- Sustainability credentials / accreditation / certificates in the country you reside.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, and Enscape.
- Workplace experience will be given stronger consideration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture (accredited school) or closely related field.
- Active interior design certificate holder or registered architect in the country you reside.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant design firm environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
- Skill in Revit and Bluebeam.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attitude and commitment to active participation in an employee‑owned culture.
Primary location:
United States – Washington – Seattle.
Schedule:
Full‑time. Employee status: regular.
