We are seeking a motivated Staff Designer or Staff Architect with 3+ years of professional experience to join our team. In a studio of our size, you will wear many hats and be involved in all aspects of a project. You should be comfortable working hands‑on in a highly collaborative environment, possessing strong communication skills, excellent organization, and the ability to self‑manage.
CoreResponsibilities
- Participate actively in a hands‑on, creative studio design process.
- Manage direct client communication and coordinate seamlessly with engineering and specialty consultants.
- Work across all project phases:
Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD) & Permitting, Construction Documents (CD), and Construction Administration (CA). - Conduct feasibility studies as well as zoning and building code research.
- Navigate permitting processes (experience with the City of Seattle or other Western Washington jurisdictions is a major plus).
- Experience:
3+ years of professional experience in an architecture or design firm. - Location:
Candidates already residing in the Seattle metropolitan area are strongly preferred. - Licensure:
Licensure is not required. If you are on the path to licensure, we highly encourage and support NCARB/AXP tracking. - Software Proficiency:
Core Production:
Revit and AutoCAD - Design & Visualization:
Rhino and Enscape - Communication & Documentation:
Adobe Creative Suite (and/or Affinity), Bluebeam Revu, MS Office, and Notion.
