This role is for a hands‑on designer with a leader mindset who establishes a vision and strategy, scales their impact with proactive collaboration across cross-functional teams, and elevates the design quality of the entire team. You will develop strong relationships with fellow designers and partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Business counterparts throughout the organization to launch bar‑raising experiences for customers around the world.

As a creative lead, you have a passion for solving our customers’ problems, always putting their needs first.

• Partner with product managers to drive the roadmap for new components.
• Collaborate with product design teams to understand user needs, problems, and goals across diverse use cases.
• Partner with researchers and data scientists to gain insight to drive and improve designs.
• Work with other designers to ensure cohesion and deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Articulate guiding principles to ground and inspire ideation, prototyping, and exploration of various design solutions.
• Design components with ingenious micro-interactions, that integrate with Amazon's design system, prioritize accessibility, and respond across desktop and mobile experiences.
• Create interaction specifications using language, diagrams, and prototypes to describe component usage, anatomy, behavior, and configuration with clarity and detail.
• Partner closely with engineering teams from design to hand off, and ensure components are implemented to specification.
• Work closely with development team to ensure the designs are accurately implemented.
• Mentor junior designers on the team.

Basic Qualifications:

• Have worked as a designer for at least 8 years, and have experience designing, building, and delivering products.
• Full stack user experience designer: interaction design, visual design and aesthetics, typography, motion, 3D, human factors, and more as tools.
• Thrive on collaboration; improve people around you; collaborate with designers, user researchers, engineers, product managers, executives.
• Get stuff done.
• Fantastic storyteller: know that products tell a story and will create a compelling narrative.
• Love rules and know when to break them; think systemically but can expand to accommodate varied conceptual models.
• Enjoy learning, constantly refining assumptions with quantitative and qualitative data.
• Want to be part of creating dramatic and impactful change on a team committed to becoming a beacon for others in user experience design.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with UX design of complex workflows.
• Experience in visual design expertise with ability to produce fresh, simple, elegant, and exceedingly usable layouts, interactions, and iconography.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
