Internship Opportunity
The Miller Hull Partnership designs projects of consequence that celebrate people and their natural surroundings. Our legacy of environmentally responsible buildings is inspired by the efficiency and elegance of passive systems and regional materials. We leverage the openness and flexibility of modernist form to celebrate connections inside and out.
With two studios bookending the West Coast in Seattle and San Diego, our work spans a wide range of project types including houses and cabins, mixed-use multifamily developments, corporate office buildings and towers, laboratories, K-12 schools, higher education buildings, city halls, community centers, libraries, fire stations, airports, international border crossings, and embassies.
We are looking for highly self-motivated professionals who have an eagerness to both learn from and teach others in a team environment. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required. A refined design sensibility with a capacity to generate compelling presentations, graphics, diagrams and renderings is also necessary. A high level of engagement with their work and deep curiosity about its relationship to broader issues is essential.
A commitment and interest to pushing new design frontiers at the intersection of social equity and environmental sustainability is also important. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills are required. Current enrollment or recent graduation from a university architecture program is necessary. Proficiency with Revit, Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite is required. Excellent physical modeling skills: iterative working models, process models, and finish models are required.
Additional skills considered preferable are experience or additional degree in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Preservation or related field. Examples of excellent making or construction experience. Experience in positions of leadership or public speaking. Examples of work demonstrating an interest in sustainable design. Proficiency with digital design, prototyping and fabrication. At least one previous internship in an architectural firm.
Experience in academics: teaching, teaching assistant, researcher, etc.
