Overview

Accountable for the strategic development and operational performance of the assigned service lines/specialties. Provide a broad perspective on care delivery for the specialty across inpatient, outpatient, and surgical/procedural areas across all sites of care. Maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape and identify strategies and tactics for opportunities and risks. Partner with Strategy and Business Development, Regional Network leaders, Marketing & Communications, and physician liaisons to identify, assess and implement regional and national strategies.

Drive strategic development of systems, processes and controls to support effective management and operations of assigned service lines/specialties. Continually assess the efficacy, safety, quality and cost of patient care in alignment with organizational, professional and regulatory standards; include benchmarking with other institutions.

In partnership with physician leaders and managers, apply Lean methodology to implement operational improvements that maximize resources and improve outcomes/value. Collaborate with site of care leaders, APP Chief and other clinical and ancillary support leaders to ensure alignment of efforts. Coordinate with the Department of Pediatrics and University of Washington Physicians (UWP) Department Directors to support recruitment and academic components of the division, and collaborate with Seattle Children’s Research Institute and Foundation.

  • Identify opportunities and risks by monitoring the competitive landscape and benchmarking against other institutions.
  • Partner with Strategy & Business Development, Regional Network leaders, Marketing & Communications and physician liaisons to identify and implement regional and national strategies.
  • Develop systems, processes and controls to support effective management and operations.
  • Apply Lean methodology to implement operational improvements to maximize resources and improve outcomes/value.
  • Collaborate with site of care leaders and other clinical/administrative leaders to align efforts and support recruitment and academic components in partnership with academic and research collaborators.
Qualifications
  • Required Education And Experience

    • MHA, MBA, MPH, MSN, or related field.

    • At least five years of progressively responsible senior management experience in a hospital or health care setting.

    • Demonstrated experience in program and business planning.

    • Demonstrated ability to lead in an environment of rapid change.
  • Required Credentials
    N/A.
Preferred
  • Experience in an academic medical setting.
  • Experience with Lean methodology.
  • Experience in pediatrics.
Compensation

Compensation Range
$ - $ per year

This compensation range is based on full-time employment (2080 hours per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
