Overview
University of Washington Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine is recruiting an academic anesthesiologist for the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The position is full‑time and non‑tenured, with anticipated start in October 2026 or thereafter. Faculty with a 12‑month service period are paid for 11 months of service in a year, and salary ranges are:
Assistant Professor $29,532–$34,119 per month ($354,384–$409,428 annually),
Associate Professor $33,843–$37,125 per month ($406,116–$445,500 annually),
Professor $35,657–$40,009 per month ($427,884–$480,108 annually).
Faculty will teach residents, fellows, and medical students, and train the clinical care team on the cardiothoracic intensive care unit and on the cardiothoracic anesthesia service. Faculty also engage in research and service activities.
Qualifications- MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent).
- At least one year of fellowship training in cardiothoracic anesthesiology and critical care medicine (or foreign equivalent).
- Board certification or eligibility in anesthesiology, with Washington medical licensure by the start of appointment.
- For foreign medical graduates, successful completion of all three steps of USMLE or equivalent as required by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
