Position Description

-Montlake Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery (ENT) has an outstanding opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Division of Rhinology & Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery. This APP team member will be deployed full-time within the Division of Rhinology.

The Rhinology team includes four fellowship trained faculty surgeons and a dedicated clinical support staff (RN, coordinator, and medical assistant). Our team is a distinguished group of fellowship trained surgeons that practice the full spectrum of patient care related to conditions of the nose, sinuses and skull base. The APP will be fully integrated into a supportive care team model that strives for excellence within a rich and immersive clinical care environment. Our group emphasizes the values of team and mentorship as guiding principles in our mission to be the premier site of care for patients with nose and sinus conditions.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing services independently and collaboratively with appropriate privileges, including initial and ongoing assessment, as well as diagnosis and treatment of the patient’s medical condition.

Position Details

Full-time (1.0 CFTE), Outpatient Ambulatory APP, Day Shift, 40 hrs/week.

This APP will hold a Teaching Associate faculty position in the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery (ENT). This faculty position has an annual service period of 12-months (July 1 - June 30). The anticipated start date is March 1, 2026. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Standards of Practice and Performance
  • Collaborate with an inter-professional team including surgeons, residents and fellows, nurses, medical assistants, and coordinators across a variety of medical and surgical sub-specialties to provide high quality patient- and family-centered care at the #1 Health Institution in the State of Washington (UW Medicine) and within a Nationally Ranked ENT Department.
  • Independently and collaboratively provide comprehensive care for patients with conditions that affect the nose, sinuses, and skull base. The APP will have a mix of independent and shared clinical deployment.
  • Deliver timely and problem-focused initial assessment of the patient’s medical condition. Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic imaging in a timely manner. Provide management and follow-up care for patients with disorders of the nose, sinuses, and skull base. Candidates can expect direct mentorship with three fellowship trained sinus and skull base surgeons.
  • Participate as an integral member of the sinus and endoscopic skull base surgery team through the development of collaborative and innovative practices, and evaluation of patient care outcomes.
  • Communicate in a professional and respectful manner with all members of the health care team whether through verbal, email or secure text communication.
  • Participate in improvement projects focused on quality and operations. Participate in and support the rhinology division’s education, research and quality initiatives.
  • Provide patient and/or family with health education, counseling and referrals to other health professionals and community resources as appropriate.
  • Attend and participate in the monthly rhinology faculty meetings.
  • Follow the UW Medical Center – Montlake’s professional behavior policy and procedures.
Service APP Duties
  • Patient/family/provider communication about disease and treatment and how it relates to patient values, priorities, and goals of care across the care spectrum.
  • Provide ambulatory clinical care within the Rhinology clinic Monday-Friday. Evaluate patients within template clinic time and as needed.
  • Contribute to the plan of care and communicate directly with patients, families and the care team.
  • Promote a collaborative approach to decision making with appropriate interdisciplinary consultation.
  • Ensure appropriate and timely hand-off of patient care when absent from clinic.

The base salary range for this position will be: $10,834 - $14,150 per month ($130,008 - $169,800 annually)…
