Overview
Bone Marrow Transplant Director for the Section of Hematology & Oncology to join the Puget Sound VA Health Care System (VAPSHCS) Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (MTU) and the University of Washington (UW) Medical Center & Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle, WA. This is a 60% clinical and 40% administrative, full‑time permanent hospital‑employed physician position located at the Seattle VA Medical Center.
Dual board certification in Hematology and Oncology is preferred; candidate will manage daily administrative and clinical operations of the MTU, including inpatient wards, MTU Outpatient and other subspecialty clinic areas. The department is expanding clinical services to better serve veteran patients.
The Staff Physicians have a major teaching role within the division, including its fellowship program. Qualified applicants will have an MD, current medical license, and board certification or eligibility in Hematology and/or Oncology. The ideal candidate will be suitable for academic appointments at UW at the level of assistant, associate, or full professor, as evidenced by a strong track record of academic and/or clinical excellence.
Applicants must be eligible for appointments at the VA. The clinical activities of the Section of Hematology/Oncology span the breadth of the subspecialty and are supported by surgery, pathology, radiology and other Medicine Service faculty.
