Advanced Practice Provider; ARNP​/PA-C - Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine

The University of Washington (UW) is recruiting for two (2) full-time (1.0 FTE) Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) at the rank of Teaching Associate in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, Department of Medicine. Patient care efforts will occur at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC), Montlake campus.

Selected candidates will provide inpatient care as part of the intensive care unit (ICU) services team at UWMC under the supervision of the Medical Director of the Medical, Surgical, and Oncology Bone Marrow Transplant ICUs. The APP is a member of the inter‑professional pulmonary and critical‑care team that includes attending physicians, pulmonary and critical‑care trainees, multidisciplinary specialists (social workers, dieticians, pharmacists, psychiatrists), other physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

The successful applicant will provide care independently and collaboratively with other team members. Duties include rounding daily with the critical care team, writing daily notes, coordinating the care of patients with the service attending physician and fellow, and participating in teaching opportunities in the clinical setting. As a member of the inpatient care team, the APP will need to provide coverage on weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care.

Teaching associates hold annual appointments for a 12‑month service period (July 1 – June 30) and may be reappointed for subsequent terms. Faculty receive pay for 11 months of service in a 12‑month period, meaning one month is available for paid time off.

The anticipated start date is November 2025 or later.

• Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program, or foreign equivalent.
• Current and valid licensure as an ARNP or PA in Washington State.
• Nationally certified ARNP/PA‑C with DEA.
• Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and clinical expertise in critical care.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of critical‑care experience.

Pay range: $110,004 – 182,088 annual.
