Description

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology at the University of Washington invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor without tenure by reason of funding (WOT), on the Clinician-Scholar track, with an anticipated start date of Summer 2027. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full‑time basis for a twelve‑month appointment (3‑year term, renewable for Assistant Professors).

We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service within a diverse and inclusive academic community.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care to neonatal patients at two academic Level IV NICUs and several regional Level III NICUs.
  • Teach medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees in the areas of neonatal medicine and related disciplines.
  • Conduct research in one or more of the Division’s primary focus areas: bench‑to‑bedside neonatal neuroprotection/neuroscience, educational and clinical simulation, and global neonatal‑perinatal health.
  • Participate in service activities that support the mission of improving pregnancy outcomes through neonatal scholarship, education, and evidence‑based clinical care.
  • Contribute to or collaborate with the Treuman Katz Center for Pediatric Bioethics as appropriate.
  • Assume additional administrative responsibilities when qualified, which may result in an administrative duty supplement (ADS).
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent).
  • Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in Neonatology or Neonatal‑Perinatal Medicine.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
  • Completion of a U.S.‑accredited pediatric neonatology residency and neonatology fellowship is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to research, teaching, mentoring, and service in an inclusive environment.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is desirable.
  • For foreign‑educated candidates: successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or equivalent as required by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Benefits

Base salary ranges (monthly) are:

  • Assistant Professor: $12,867 – $19,300
  • Associate Professor: $15,193 – $22,790
  • Full Professor: $19,385 – $29,078

These ranges are inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.
