The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor to serve as Division Head of Pediatric Dermatology, with an anticipated start date of September 2026. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a continuous academic/twelve-month appointment.
The base salary range for this position will be $37,226 - $54,678 per month ($446,712 - $656,136 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.
Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children's University Medical Group practice plan.

Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative duty supplement (ADS).
As the second largest Department in the UW School of Medicine, Pediatrics has twenty-one clinical divisions with approximately 1,400 academic appointments, including approximately 650 paid faculty members, 134 residents, 70 ACGME fellows, 230 staff employees and over 600 volunteer/affiliate faculty and continues to grow each year. The Department of Pediatrics is a close affiliate of Seattle Children's Hospital (SCH) and Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI).
Faculty members appointed in the Department are located at various institutions (including Seattle Children's, UW Medicine, and FHCRC), and are part of the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) clinical practice plan.
The Dermatology Division Head is expected to work collaboratively across all domains to advance and support the clinical, educational and scholarly aims of the Division of Dermatology and the Department of Pediatrics. This position is expected to participate in strategic planning and mentorship to aid in the development of faculty and trainees as academic dermatologists while fostering an environment that is inclusive and respects all facets of diversity.

Primary Duties of the Division Head include:
In addition to providing outpatient and inpatient clinical care, participating in research opportunities, and other expectations of all faculty members, the duties of the division head include:
- Provide guidance and leadership for the Division of Dermatology
- Lead faculty development, recruitment and retention
- Annual faculty review meetings and progress reports
- Faculty promotion and re-appointment support and letters
- Oversight of clinical care including faculty deployment across all clinical care sites
- Advocate for adequate clinical support staff
- Attend weekly clinical operations meetings
- Oversight of division finances including division budget review, faculty salary negotiation and adjustments, incentive plans and faculty development funds
- Leadership of monthly division meetings and monthly clinical care conferences
- Attend biweekly department leadership meetings and quarterly retreats
- Oversight of education
- Appointment and supervision of fellowship program director
- Engage with dermatology residency program director to ensure appropriate training of dermatology residents
- Review deployment of trainees including fellows, residents, and medical students
- Promote scholarship and quality improvement within the division
- Foster engagement, team building, and reputation building
This position provides an opportunity to work at the Clinical & Translational Research Center (CTR) at Seattle Children's Research Institute.
Applicants for this position must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Must have MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent).
- Must be Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in Pediatric Dermatology.
- Must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington
