Position Description
The Department of Radiology in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle is recruiting one full‑time (100% FTE) faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor without tenure (WOT) by reason of funding, commensurate with experience. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2027. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi‑year appointments that align with a 12‑month service period (July 1‑June 30).
Associate Professors WOT and full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12‑month service period (July 1‑June 30). Faculty with a 12‑month service period are paid for 11 months of service over a 12‑month period (July‑June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The cardiothoracic imaging section seeks a cardiothoracic imaging fellowship‑trained individual who will engage in scholarly work, teaching, and clinical service. Clinical work includes pulmonary and cardiac imaging. The successful candidate will work with cardiovascular MRI and CT, chest CT and chest radiographs.
The Cardiothoracic Imaging section currently has ten faculty members with a range of expertise in pulmonary and cardiac imaging and provides pulmonary, vascular, cardiac CT and MR diagnostic interpretations. The section maintains close relationships with internal medicine, pulmonology, oncology, bone marrow transplantation, cardiology, and cardiac and thoracic surgery services at all hospital sites:
University of Washington Medical Center Montlake and Northwest campuses, Harborview Medical Center, and Fred Hutch Cancer Center. Cardiothoracic Imaging has an active fellowship program and faculty are responsible for instruction of cardiothoracic imaging fellows, in addition to medical students and diagnostic radiology residents.
The base salary range for this position varies by rank: $37,424—$38,173 per month ($449,088—$458,076 annually) for Assistant Professor, $40,744—$41,559 per month ($488,928—$498,708 annually) for Associate Professor, and $44,819—$45,716 per month ($537,828—$548,592 annually) for Professor, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.
Compensation provided by UW Physicians may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization and the position is incentive eligible through the physician practice plan.

Qualifications- M.D., or foreign equivalent, in medicine and eligibility for medical licensure in Washington State
- Be board certified or board eligible in diagnostic radiology
- Completion of an ACGME‑accredited residency in diagnostic radiology and have completed a fellowship training in cardiothoracic imaging
- Demonstrated record of scientific presentations or publications
